Hello all,

I was a member of the group recently visiting Ashmore Reef, not so much as a participant but as a passenger. Nevertheless, in doing so I managed to achieve my birding ambition of sighting 700 Australian species in my lifetime. It has taken me over twenty-one years to do what Sean Dooley has done in one year, which he so vividly describes in his book "The Big Twitch". So, I would like to especially thank Mike Carter and George Swann for their excellent organising and leadership of our venture and also for the keen perception aand knowledge of the members of our party Mike, George, Murray, Peter, Rohan, David, Sean, Adrian, David and Frank. Our skipper George and his gentle wife Jaquie looked after us with a combination of professional seamanship and excellent food, supported by our obliging deckie, Mathew. At times like this one is entitled to a little emotional expression, so truly "my cup runneth over"
