Hi all

I recently spent a week in SW WA - Perth, Cape Naturaliste, Denmark, Albany,
Northam. Frank O'Connor's website proved very helpful. Here a brief update
of the highlights.

23 Oct Rottnest Island - 6 Peafowl, common in the village; 6 Pheasants
heard, 1 seen (Golf course); 10s Banded Stilt in the Salt Lakes; a few
Purple-gaped Honeyeaters.

24 Oct Cape Naturaliste - NO Red-billed Tropicbirds on Sugarloaf Rock
despite returning there and many times during the day spending quite a bit
of time staring at the rock each time. Other birders also unsuccessful.
There was a Rufous Fieldwren there, and some Red-eared Firetails near the
lighthouse.

25 Oct Karri Forests Pemberton - Denmark: Western Yellow Robin,
White-breasted Robin, Red-winged Wren, Western Thornbill, Western Spinebill,
Western Rosella, Red-capped Parrot
26 Oct Rocky Gully (Muir Hwy) 2pairs Western Rosellas; Porungerop NP
parking area 2 Rufous Treecreepers, White-breasted Robin.

27 Oct Two People's Bay (Little Beach parking bay) - 1:30 pm - Western
Bristlebird calling & good views; 2 Noisy Scrub-birds calling in the
distance; Waychichinup NP (late afternoon) 3 Noisy Scrub-birds calling, 1

calling, 3 Noisy Scrub-birds calling and close (5m) views of one (at the
creek crossing), 2 Western Whipbird calling, Southern Emu-wrens,
White-breasted robin, Red-eared Firetail
28 Oct late afternoon Northam 5 Mute Swans Avon River.

29 Oct Toodyak area 2 Western Corellas, 2 Rufous Tree-creepers.

Apart from the 1st and last day, the weather was chilly and very wet.

Cheers
