Reminds me of the Apostlebirds in the camping area at Lake Mungo in western NSW. They would all stop what they were doing and fly to a particular tree near the toilet block whenever they saw a camper going to the toilet. The tap for washing one's hands was outside the block and a puddle was left under it whenever anyone washed their hands. The birds would wait for the person to leave and then fly down to drink from the quickly vanishing puddle. Paul Osborn |
