While of no interest at all to coastal birders, it was noteworthy that there was a Channel-billed Cuckoo in my back yard 10km east of Dubbo this morning being harassed by the resident breeding Magpies (who had probably never seen such a creature in their life!). Two (or three) years ago I had C-b Cuckoos flying over a previous residence 20km south of Dubbo. They can only be regarded as vagrants in this part of the world.
