I saw a Rose-crowned Fruit-dove during my lunch break yesterday at Red Beach, Bribie Island.  I was hoping against hope to find a Superb Fruit-dove, but still pretty chuffed about good views of a male Rose-crowned perched on a low branch.

I also saw a flycatcher, which appeared to me to be a male Satin Flycatcher, especially in full sunlight.  I’ve seen plenty of Leaden Flycatchers in similar coastal habitats, but this bird seemed much darker, with none of the “leaden” sheen when perched in the sunlight.

If anyone happens to visit Red Beach and picks up Satin Flycatcher here, please let me know.

Cheers,
