Yesterday Grev and Margaret Reidy and I visited Pitt Town and Bushells Lagoons in the Hawkesbury area west of Sydney. On the way there on Anangrove Road not far from Bluegum Road we spotted a large dead bird on the road. We stopped and looked and found it to be an adult Powerful Owl. Unfortunately it was badly pulped. A sad sight. It seemed fresh, probably killed on Sunday night. We thought it too much of a mess to submit it to the museum. Otherwise we had an enjoyable morning seeing some but not all of what Edwin Vella saw at the same venues. -- John Reidy Sydney Phone 02 9871 4836 Fax 02 9871 2616 -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
