While driving past Lake Goldsmith in western Victoria today I noticed two brolgas, one apparently sitting on a nest. Closer looking from the road edge showed two chicks in the nest along with what appeared to be a freshly broken egg shell. I was able to take long distance telephoto shots which have confirmed the on-site view.
