Hi All.

I went down to check out the Ospreys this morning (Mon.3Rd.) watched for 70
minutes without seeing either of the birds, tried a different angle but
still no luck. I came to the reluctant conclusion that something has
happened between when Edwin Vella reported everything as normal on Sun.
25Th. Sept. and this morning.

I don't believe the birds would leave either their eggs or very young birds
unattended for over one hour so can only assume disaster has struck.
Particularly as I never saw the female leave the nest previously.

My very rough estimate was that the eggs would hatch either last weekend or
some time this week.

If anyone has either seen the Ospreys or looked unsuccessfully for them
between the 25Th. and today, would they let me know.

A sad day for Sydney birding!

Bruce.
