Highlights this week from the Capertee Valley, NSW, included:
- Regent Honeyeaters performing beautifully along the river with
their aerobatics and bell-like notes stealing the limelight. Two
fledglings seen.
- A Spotted Harrier over Glenowlan Bridge on Monday.
- Singing Bushlark displaying at Glenowlan Bridge.
- Western Gerygones arrived and singing non-stop at Bogee.
- Musk Lorikeets in the White Box blossoms near Port Macquarie Road
while Little Lorikeets are everywhere.
- On Monday, a new species for my place in the form of a
Square-tailed Kite, seen first by John & Nancy Turner, and later by
visiting Dutch birders and myself. The two "Painteds" continue to
feature - with more Painted Honeyeaters arriving and a female Painted
Button-quail giving us all great views.
Cheers
Carol
