The Australian Bird Study Association website (www.absa.asn.au) has the
longest elapsed time and distance travelled for many Australian and Papua
New Guinea species (banded under ABBBS) summarised from recovery round-up
published in Corella. The figures for Lewin's Honeyeater was a bird banded
as an adult was still alive 13 years later. Incidentally the longest
recorded movement for this species is 108km

Date: Mon, 19 Sep 2005 13:51:39 +1000
G'day,
Does any one have an idea as to the life span of a Lewins Honeyeater? an
acquaintance has had a single bird entering her house for ten years and
believes it to be the one animal.
