Hi Birders

While it might be said that the first swallow does not make it spring, andthe first Channel-billed Cuckoos at Pymbleon 16/8/05 & Penrith 30/8/05 werea bit out of season. However I can now report that the season has now begunin earnest with Channel-bills being reported at Morpeth 6/9, Bateau Bay 7/9,Toronto 8/9 and Kilcare 9/9 - thats Newcastle and the Central Coast, lookout Sydney.

Koel Cuckoos were first reported by Mike Todd on 30/8 near Toronto and thenone a McMasters beach today 9/9 by Mike Barth.
