Hi All,

Further to my message earlier this week advising of changes to the Toorbul roost...........

I have just returned from doing a wader survey of the three Toorbul roosts, which I have undertaken on a weekly basis in order to document the uptake rate of the new roost. Workmen were planting on the surrounding mound, and no birds were on the new roost.

Three residents who live close to the roost came over to tell me that the birds have already accepted the new roost. The residents were over the moon, filled with pride. They said the birds are using it in large numbers and often. I find this quite astonishing. I thought we would have to wait several months until the birds accepted it. Now I am waiting for the pictures they took for me to prove it.

Isn't that fantastic????????

Cheers,

Jill
