I have just been looking back through my photos, and the two I have posted
on my site at http://members.optusnet.com.au/ozbirds/scarlethoneyeater.html
Were both taken in Penrith in June 2004.

I have also seen some this year in June/July in the same area, so Scarlet
Honeyeaters have been around Penrith throughout the winter for the past two
years.

I have always thought the Scarlet Honeyeater to be altitude migrants, coming
down to this area at the foot of the Blue Mountains from the upper reaches
in the autumn, I certainly have not recorded them as frequently in the very
hot weather.
