Hi Hugo From Bayside - 20km south of Melbourne and on the opposite side of the Bay to the Bellarine Peninsula. All three of the species you mention have been around Bayside, including the foreshore, this year. In fact all have occurred in the foreshore every 5 years: 1995, 2000, 2005. Not many records of both kites and kestrels since 2002. We haven't been surveying rodents much in 2005 but there seemed to be unusually high numbers of both black and brown rats earlier in the year. No one has mentioned mice numbers being high.
