Yes but given the story and the context of her
description, a Pacific Baza is hardly as likely as a Brown Goshawk. This is what
I wrote to her.
Hello Jana,
From what you write, that seems like
a spot on identification to me and the species does occur there. For a Collared
Sparrowhawk to kill a pigeon would be unusual but for a Brown Goshawk, a pigeon
would be much more in its size range of suitable prey.
