Try a little further North. The saltfields are the local Southern limit.
They are all around the Gulf, at least as far as Ardrossan. Just pick a
likely patch of samphire and go for a walk! My thought is that they are
more common at the top of the gulf. These birds are obliging, and not
hard to see...
