I think one of the things that might put people off birdwatching is snobs
that all too easily make rude generalisations that alienate other people
that might actually have an interest in nature and birds, AND own a 4wd!
My 4WD is being gratefully used as part of the tree planting weekend coming
up in the Capertee valley.
I use my 4wd to travel Australia and get to places too see the amazing
country that we have and specifically the birds and animals that inhabit it
