Where I live (Chadstone) and work (Dandenong-Berwick) area, i definately think
hobbies are increasing. I will see them more days than not and sometimes
several birds in various places. I do drive around a fair bit for work which
might help with the extra spotting.
Cheers
Tim

Aust. Hobbies are quite often seen near the corner of Nicholson St and
Princes St (which turns into Heidelberg Rd further out). I have always
assumed that they use the Exhibition Gardens as base, but there are
quite a few surviving tall trees in Brunswick and Carlton. I saw one
overhead from a house in Easey St close to Hoddle St only three weeks ago.
