Hi all,
The next Melbourne public seminar of Birds Australia is on Thursday 9
June, at 8:00pm. We are very fortunate to have as our guest speaker
Chris Tzaros, Birds Australia's Threatened Bird Network Co-ordinator. In
his talk entitled "Wildlife of Victoria's no longer forgotten
Box-Ironbark Country", Chris discusses the campaign to preserve
box-ironbark forests and woodlands. A number of new national and state
parks have recently been proclaimed in this unique ecosystem of northern
Victoria. Chris has been heavily involved in box-ironbark conservation
since the mid 1990's and has a sound knowledge of the diverse array of
fauna that
inhabits the region.
The talk will be held at our usual venue: down stairs at the theatrette
at Strathcona Grammar School, Scott St, Canterbury, Melbourne (Melways.
Ref. 46 D12).
Cheers,
Tim Dolby
