"Say what we like I guess, but is there a correct terminology?!" Peter,It is all convention. Some local references to nearby places can be quite humorous. East used to be up on maps and this is probably a good system as when we get the next polarity reversal will we still call the north pole "north"? If so then what about magnets and compasses. At least we will still roll on towards the east!
