Hi,

Just back from a visit to South Australia. A day was spent birding along the Coorong from the eastern gate to the barrage to Meningie. The highlight was a clear sighting of two orange bellied parrots about 1 km east of the gate (Coordinates were about S 35deg 36 min E 139 deg 3 min). Other birds sighted as they were seen were: pelicans, great black cormorants, hoary headed grebes by the hundreds, royal spoonbills, grey teal, seagulls, white faced herons, great egrets, singing honeyeaters, willie wagtails, whistling kites, swamp harrier, kestrel, white fronted chat, little pied cormorant, Australian ibis, common greenshank, sparrow, black swan, silvereye, starling, magpie lark, red-necked stint, crested tern, superb blue wren, chestnut teal, cape barron geese, black-tailed native hen, yellow billed spoonbill, whiskered tern, crested pigeon, black duck, little raven, magpie, brown falcon, black-shouldered kite, bronzewing pigeon, masked lapwing, spiny-cheeked honeyeater.
