I was in the Capertee Valley yesterday. There was no opportunity for birding but I did encounter a Rufous Songlark in full voice. I've encountered this species throughout winter on quite a few occasions in the Capertee Valley but they are generally silent. Does this species behave much like the Clamorous Reed Warbler with part of the population wintering over but are generally overlooked because they are not singing?
