This controversy has been simmering in the local papers here in
Werribee for a while. Last week a supporter of the sheds wrote a
letter to a local paper in praise of the bird life around the sheds
(not sure how the sheds help bird life). Amongst the birds she saw in
a recent visit there were two Albatrosses she claimed.
So - no more pelagics for me - I'm just going to sit on the beach and
wait for them to come to me!

Hi Dave,

I lot of non-birders I talk to think that Pacific Gulls are
Albatrosses. I guess just because they are big, larger
than silver gulls, it 'must be an albaross'. Gannets may be another species sometimes considered as albatross, by these
types.

That said, it is possible, although Cambell Cove is not on a headland
pint, or anything. There have been Albatross sightings at Ricketts Point, but dont think they're a regular occurence.
