Hi
This is probably old hat to most, if not all, of you, but it was the
first time I've seen this so I thought I'd pass it on...
Minnippi Parklands, this morning (22.3) watched a Kookaburra fly down
from a tree branch and plunge into the lake. Didn't fully immerse
itself, rather splashed onto the surface. It didn't look like it had
made a mistake, either, simply flew back up to the branch and briefly
shook itself. Not sure if it was fishing or bathing or simply going for
a flying insect of some sort and interacting with the lake
as a result of it's attempts? It didn't look like it was bathing - it
did look like it was fishing.
Strange or normal?
