The 2005 Australian Bird Study Association AGM and Scientific Day will be held in Sale, Victoria on 15 April.  The 2005 theme is Birds of the Wetlands and Coastal Plains.

A brief summary of speakers follows:

Dr Clive Minton                Developments and trends in Wader Studies in Australia
Don Ripper                 Banding Studies in the Central Gippsland region
Roz Jessop and Peter Collins        Recent research on the Little Penguin.
Alice Ewing                 An analysis of 25 years of Wader count data from corner inlet
Josephine McHunter         Effect of fragmented habitat of the birds of the Redgum plains
Dr David Hollonds         The Photography of Flight

On Sunday 16 April there will be banding in the Sale Common State Game Refuge with the Central Gippsland bird studies group as well as tours of Sale Common, Dowd and Heart Morass (all RAMSAR listed wetlands).
