Is the issue that "Mynas are tolerant of small birds like Willy Wagtails, Silvereyes and Superb Fairy-wrens etc and can live with them OK". Or is it that small birds like ....are tolerant of Mynas (or not). Certainly the evidence over 21 years from COG's GBS as in my 21 Year book on the survey is that all the large parrots (escept Gang-gang Cockatoo which has gone up and down with a slight increase) have allincreased their abundances drastictly during the time the Myna has arrived and then increased in abundance. The Eastern Rosella has not changed, the Red-rumped Parrot has decreased drastically and the Common Starling has also decreased drastically. Philip |
