Martin, A well trained bird-dog, such as a German Short-haired Pointer can be used to census quail and Button-quail particularly Red-chested & Little Button-quail, and Ground Parrots. Probably more effecient that a rope pulled over grass because the dogs can range further. Make contact with the Gun Dog Field Trials Assoc. I can speak with experience, but alas not recent experience, as I am now down to an old Red Cattledog, inherited from my father-in-law and it has few skills in finding birds. Alan Morris |
