Hi Anthea In Tassie in mid January. We saw a number of Yellow Wattlebirds on Constitution Hill near the Botanic Gardens early AM. We saw all endemics except Black Currawong on Bruny Island, an easy drive and ferry ride from Hobart. We did spend time at Inala, a great spot. Most rental cars companies now allow you to use a vehicle "on a road which is properly formed and constructed as a sealed metalled or gravel road". I was certainly on plenty of unsealed roads in Tasmania.
