While out birding and bicycle touring around the Nagambie- Bailieston-Whroo
area last weekend we recorded a small flock (15 - 20 birds) of
White-throated Needletails foraging above wooded farmland (box-ironbark,
red gum) near Nagambie, north of Melbourne.

Details were as follows:

Date: 29 January 2005
Locality: Wattlevale Road, 7km due west of Nagambie, using GDA datum the
UTM reference was 0327495/5925012
Altitude of observers: 150m
Time: 1855hrs EST
Weather: warm & humid with late sunshine and patches of dark clouds
overhead.
Other species recorded: Hooded Robin, Eastern Rosella, Willy Wagtail,
White-plumed Honeyeater, Brown Treecreeper, Red-rumped Parrot, White-winged
Chough
