Visited the little tern colony at the entrance about 2 weeks ago and saw 2 newborn chicks. Im not sure how many more will have hatched though because every time a person walked along the spit the incubating birds would leave their nests. Also payed a visit to taronga zoo the other day, I know its not the same as seeing wild birds but there was an exhibit called creatuires of the wollemi, There were reed warblers with several nests and young in the reeds, dollarbirds, grebes, lyrebirds, gang gangs, bush stone curlews, and all kinds of finches and parrots coexisting in this huge walk in aviary, it was tops.
