Recently I wrote to the Nature Australia magazine re. Summer 04-05 article "Penguin Mothers Show True Grit" to advise them that the common name and the scientific name of the Magellanic Penguin had been spelt incorrectly. I received a prompt reply, stating how embarrassed they were, and revealing their amazement at how these things manage to slip through despite several safety nets. I really appreciated their honesty. I wonder what the reaction would be if the powers that be were advised that "Curly Sandpiper" was incorrect. -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
