Sydney birders may be interested to know that the Kellyville Country Club has purchased land and currently has a DA before Council for a new golf course in the area of Pitt Town Bottoms south of Pitt Town Lagoon NR and bounded by Pitt Town and Pitt Town Bottoms Roads (this is in the Hawkesbury area of Sydney). If recent proposals for a large residential development of Pitt Town eventuate, the viability of Pitt Town Lagoon as a nature reserve/good birding spot will be in jeopardy. Ironically, the proposed golf course may, in time, act as a buffer zone to this development and prove to be a blessing in disguise.
