Thanks for that trevor. I am aware that the ideal ( apart from portability and cost) would be a DSLR with a fast long telephoto with IS. Unfortunately this is a little out of my range ( probably $3000 at least for lense and camera). One day maybe.... The FZ20 has an f2.8 420mm max lens. the shutter lag is a pain, I was hoping to get a few views on how much of a pain! ( I have encountered it trying to digiscope with a canon a70 and kowa telescope) The use of the manual focus option on the FZ20 should cut down on the lag ( assuming it is already switched on and focussed.
