The closest population I have seen to melbourne is at
Albert Park on the Golf Course. They're there most times
I go. (Which is closer, Albert park or Royal Park?).
Ive also seen them at Studley Park, Elsternwick Park, down
the west coast including Williamstown, Altona, Pt Cooke and
Werribee. I also saw one in the Car Park at IKEA at 
Moorabbin. I think they are pretty well established in 
Melbourne. (=

Personally I'd rather they displace rock doves than 
turtle-doves. (=
