Hi all,

While out at Matcham this morning I observed a Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo chopping into the bark of an Acacia tree at about 1 metre above the ground. After seeing me the bird flew to another more distant Acacia and proceeded to start tearing strips of bark off higher branches. Can anyone shed any light on why they might do this?

Cheers
Mike.
