A osprey nest within sight of my house is now vacant. Until recently it was occupied by a very happy family including two juveniles.
 
Can someone give me an idea of the breeding patterns of these birds. At what age of the young are the nests completely abandoned?
 
Where do they go to after leaving the nest? Adults and young?
 
I am very close to Lake Samsonvale in SE Qld.
