It appears that the Spotted Whistling-ducks have joined the Cattle
Egrets, Kelp Gulls, a few White-fronted Terns (in TAS) and possibly also
the South Island Pied Oystercatcher in making Australia their home
permanently. Does anyone know of other species that have followed the
same?

g,Day all

On the 14th of September 2004 while visiting Weipa, Qld, there were 5
Spotted `Whistling-Duck at the waste water ponds at the eastern entrance

to town and an additional 10 on the Marpoon Road ponds. Scott Templeton

from Coen informed me that there are often 30+ present here and they can

nearly always be found at these ponds.
