Good Day,
This is my first ever posting to this group.
I went to visit Mason Park and Bicentennial Park in
Sydney Olympic Park last Sunday.
At Mason Park, counted about 20 Sharp-tailed
Sandpipers, 2 Curlew Sandpiper and one Red-kneed
Dotteral.
At the other side, the Wetland lake was now full of
algae and there were very few water birds except for a
few Stilts. Is this still a 'functional' waterbirds
refuge? Even the Belverede Lake at the visitor center
supported more diversity of birds.
Mason Park is not a scenic pond but supports a good
range of bird life. Anybody knows any conservation
status/efforts for this small piece of hot spot?
I intend to revisit the areas again this weekend.
Appreciate for any recommendation on sites nearby not
mentioned above.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Regards,
Tun-Pin ONG
Sydney
