Hi Birders,
Small numbers of Swift Parrots continue to remain on the Central Coast at Buff Point, near Budgewoi, feeding in mainly flowering Forest Red Gum. there were 30+ there on 18/9/04, but after the hailstorms of 20/9/04, a lot of the blossoms were destoyed and a check by Carl Clifton on 29/9/04, revealed only 10+ in the general area.

Other interesting  birds that have been seen include Square-tailed Kites at Wadalba Hill on 18/9 (Brian Downer) and at Murrumbung HSD Mardi 22/9/04 (Carole Carpenter).

There were 14 Whiskered Terns at Chittaway Bay, Tuggerah Lakes on 29/9 (Alan Morris), and still 100+ White-fronted Terns with 2 Common Terns at Soldiers Point, Norah Head on 29/9, and the first returning Little Terns at the same place on 27/9 (Robert Quinan).

A Grey Goshawk was found nesting at Wadalba Hill on 22/9 (Mike Barth), our first CC breeding record, and a pair of Painted Honeyeaters were at Crafts Ck Reserve, Mangrove Mountain on 26/9/04, first CC record since 1982 (Kaye Pointer).
