Hi Birders,
Terrill Nordstrom reported on a Swamp Harrier at Maddens Plains south of Sydney. While it is many years since I have lived in Sydney and regularly travelled south along the coast, I do remember seeing Swamp Harriers over that low costal heath at Maddens Plains. I would suspect that the sighting is not unusual because Swamp Harriers are sometimes seen on the coastal heaths here on the Central Coast. However I may be wrong and maybe the Illawarra birderes have better knowledge of this than I do.
