Hi All.

My high on Saturday morning; at the top of Mayfair Rd. was a BLACK
KITE. It flew overhead at treetop height.

Also on Mayfair Rd, a pair of GOLDEN (Shining) BRONZE-CUCKOOS courting,
a male and female ROSE ROBIN still about, EASTERN WHIPBIRD calling, as well
as a CRESTED SHRIKE-TIT, debarking a eucalypt, a group of VARIED SITELLAS,
both Pardalotes breeding, Yellow Thornbills, Weebills, "Tasmanian"
Silvereyes, a pair of COMMON BRONZEWINGS. NOISY FRIARBIRDS flying south in
groups of up to twelve. An OLIVE-BACKED ORIOLE, at least one of which
overwintered in the area. Crimson Rosellas, Noisy and Bell Miners

At the dam at the bottom of the hill, LITTLE PIED CORMORANTS nesting
in an overhanging Weeping Willow, GALAHS, VARIED LORIKEETS and RED-RUMPED
PARROTS chasing European Starlings away from nesting holes in the big
eucalypt. A LONG-BILLED CORELLA was inspecting holes in the tree two weeks
ago.WHITE-PLUMED HONEYEATER feeding in the same tree, unusual here where
Yellow-faced Honeyeaters reign. EASTERN SPINEBILLS darting about. RESTLESS
FLYCATCHER. Eastern Rosellas, Sulphur-crested Cocatoos.

Closer to home, in the Valley itself, five finches, Red-browed,
Double-barred, Chestnut-breasted Mannikin, plus introduced Spice and
European Goldfinch. Red-whiskered Bulbuls and Blackbirds. GREY BUTCHERBIRD,
Currawongs eating the White Cedar tree berries, YELLOWTAILED BLACK COCKATOOS
tearing its branches apart to get at the grubs inside. PEACEFUL DOVES among
the Spotted Turtle-doves House Sparrows finches and Blue wrens around the
Cocky cage. Brown and Yellow-rumped Thornbills.

Wood-ducks, Hardheads, Masked Lapwings, Purple Gallinules, Moorhens.
No Grebes, the dams are too shallow. "WE NEED RAIN"

Notably absent, Satin Bowerbird, Variegated Fairywren, White-browed
Scrubwren, but enough to keep the interest up.
                                                    Cheers
                                                           Michael
