Hi Birders

Whilst driving along The Grand Parade, Brighton-Le-Sands this morning
(Monday) at 10:30. I spotted two Australian Magpies, one a rather scruffy,
one-legged male and the other a very nice specimen of the white-backed race,
leuconota. Yes, way out of its regular distribution zone. I can't even begin
to imagine why it could or would be here but there's a strong chance that it
wont be travelling too far with the breeding season upon us.

Here's where to find our tourist: On the parks of the Bay side of the Grand
Parade between Hollywood and Culver Streets (or probably thereabouts).

The identity of this bird is unmistakable, even from quite a distance. If
you're having trouble finding the area, drop me a line, as it's not far from
where I live.

Regards - Ricki
