Hi birders,
Around Exmouth, Crimson Chats, Zebra Finches & Spinifex Pigeons were common, whilst near the Golf Course came across the first Rainbow Bee-eaters & Red-backed Kingfishers, also Rufous Fieldwren.
Visits to Shothole Canyon, a lovely place, only found Little Woodswallow, Grey-headed Honeyeater & Striated Pardalote. Whilst at neighbouring Charles Knife Gorge found the latters cousin - Red-browed Pardalote. Once again visited FO'C's suggested sites.
Found Mangrove Bay in Cape Range N.P. disappointing for the mangrove species but Wapet Creek south of Exmouth was great. In less than 1/2 hour had located male & female Mangrove Golden & White-breasted Whistlers &Dusky Gerygone, Mangrove Grey Fantail, Yellow White-eye, White-breasted Woodswallow & Sacred Kingfisher.   I was most keen to find the carteri race of the Western Bowerbird which I first located at the Mangrove Bay turnoff, then later several around the water tap opposite Neds & Mesa Camp. An Australian Bustard by the road side was a nice sight.
Also a Perentie feeding on a road-kill.
  To be continued.
Cheers
