Hi All, (esp. Russell)

I once reported a nest site, and recieved an email from a birding_aus members terrified that an egg collector might get hold of the information and raid the nest.
It made me more aware of the  fact that a lot of information posted on birding aus could be used by poachers for nests, eggs, and birds themselves, and even more troubling is that all the information in the archive is available via search engines on the net.

Russell:  Has it ever been considered to created birding_aus memberships, and put password protection on the Archives?

What would people think about this?

Peter

G'day All

I'm including the message info in the following to provide a framework for
relevancy.

Has anybody noticed this rather alarming trend in Australia? Once somebody
starts this sort of activity it can grow rapidly: four dozen auctions! The
responses suggested by the author of the email seem pretty sound.

There just seems to be no limit to the ignorance of humans and the their
inventiveness when it comes to harming nature.

Regards - Ricki
