G'day,

To comment on Bill Jolly's recommendation of 'A Birder's Guide to Japan by
Jane Washburn Robinson', I would say that this book is a most eccentric
offering, giving a very subjective look at Japan. If you get on with it,
fine, and it does contain useful information. But infinitely better is 'A
Birdwatcher's Guide to Japan' by Mark Brazil (ISBN 0-87011-849-8), a compact
and succinct site guide written by a birder for birders. It's the only one
I've seen in use in Japan.

Tim Murphy's "Tori no hon arimas' ka?" actually means "Can we go upstairs
and look at your bird etchings?"

Again, this email address is for outgoing messages only.

Trevor.
