This is what I had assumed but on two or three occasions after dark a coarse rasping noise came from the tree with the currawongs nest and I saw the CBC fly away. These currawongs did end up with a CBC chick to annoy them. -----Original Message----- From: Peter Madvig Sent: Friday, 9 April 2004 6:03 PM To: Colin Driscoll; Birding-aus Subject: Channel billed cuckoo Colin, Doesn't the male make sure he gets chased by the nest owners, and while they are away playing Spitfires v. Messerschmidts, she nips in, and does the deed?!! Regards, Peter Madvig Beecroft |
