Hi birders,
David Geering commented about "Where are those Ibis when you need them" and in view of the locusts plagues out around Dubbo that have been so graphically described on ABC radio and on the TV, you would have thought that the Straw-necked Ibis would get the message! But there are still small flocks around the Central Coast and many on Hexham Swamp and and its outlying wetlands in the Hunter, so presumbaly what is on offer locally, is sufficiently satisfying that they are not moving for the present. Now a flood in the Macquarie Marshes might change their mind, or has there been sufficient flooding on the Bulloo, Paroo & Narran Rivers in north-west NSW and the inland Queensland Rivers that many have been drawn up north to breed?
