Thanks David for your input into this.
 
The peak high tide was supposed to be 1.8 metres according to the tide charts and I would guess that it actually was that or even higher.
 
Winds were initally moderately from the NW producing a very dry heat with a southerly change as the tide was falling in the early afternoon.
