A very pleasant casual Sunday morning included the following interesting sightings (in order of sighting):
1.      A single Latham's Snipe on the Werribee River (K Road adjacent to the Werribee Park Golf Course).
2.      Little (many) and Purple-crowned Lorikeets in the eucalypts at the same location.
3.      A large pod (?15+) of dolphins off South Werribee beach.
4.      Approx 40 Red-capped Plover roosting in grass opposite the South Werribee boat-ramp.
5.      Giraffe and Rhinoceros on the flood-plain of the Werribee River (in the Werribee Open Range Zoo - but viewed from a publicly accessible overlook adjacent to the Werribee Mansion Hotel).  Generally uncommon on birding outings!  (And no Oxpecker of either species to be seen, sadly.)
6.      A close Australasian Gannet from the ferry from Port Melbourne to Williamstown.
