Peter and birders

The Slater guide shows a bird with this colouration and calls it 'stained'. A quick perusal of the other field guides to which I have access makes no mention of this colouration. Here in South-east Queensland many LPC's have this stain and seem to do so mainly during the breeding season or early summer I guess. HANZAB seems to make no mention of this.
